Fit-for-Purpose Tech Check: Evaluating Wearables and Digital Health Systems
Service Description
Overview
This service provides technical and functional evaluation of wearable systems and digital health technologies. Offered by SMAILE at Karolinska Institutet, it examines the end-to-end setup from sensor design to data acquisition, transfer, and analysis pipelines. The service assesses the feasibility, usability, and data integrity of hardware and digital platforms used in healthcare or clinical studies.
We provide expertise and support in:
- Wearable sensor system testing and integration
- Digital tool usability, interoperability, and data pipeline analysis
How can the service help you?
Startups and SMEs aiming to develop or validate wearable solutions benefit from an independent review of their device’s performance. Whether you are preparing for pilot deployment, grant applications, or a regulatory pathway, this evaluation ensures robustness, data quality, and readiness for field conditions.
How the service will be delivered?
A combination of remote review (schematics, firmware, data structure) and physical testing in SMAILE labs, if required. Duration: 2–8 weeks.
